Breaking Down
My painting practice has been inspired by my relationship to nature. I am continuously intrigued by the breaking down of asphalt as well as the formation of rocks in nature and this has been the catalyst for much of my recent work. Being a country girl at heart while living in a city, I seek the expanse, beauty, and simplicity of nature in my experience within the city and my art is an expression of this search.
Crevasse Series
These paintings were inspired by rock formations and their likeness to the human body. My intention was to represent both the Earth and the human body in abstract form, symbolizing the interconnectedness of nature.
